Brighton

Brighton is a town on the South coast of England in the UK, that together with its neighbor, Hoveforms the city of Brighton and Hove. As of 2007, Brighton itself had an estimated population of 155,919, with perhaps as many as 480,000 people living in the conurbation centered on Brighton.

Brighton has been a health resort since the 18th century, a popular seaside destination for visitors from London and the rest of the Southeast England, since the building of railways in the mid 19th century.

There are many hotels, restaurants and entertaint venues in Brighton, and also an active gay scene (the city has been described as the "gay capital of Britain"). Brighton also a pier, and a Royal Pavilion, the latter having been constructed in an Indo-Saracenic style as a royal residence (it is no longer used for this purpose) for the Prince Regent (later to become King George IV).
